I have been driving for or 18 years and this is the worst company I've ever worked for. They don't pay detention pay they don't pay for you using your phone to get loads instead if their equipment. Don't want to get you home when your home time is due. Planners are rude want you to do what they say I am a 63 year old I refuse to back down. No HR department and the language barrier is horrible. Go some where else if you need a job. Skip this company.

Pros

Equipment is okay

Cons

Hard time getting home. Wait too long on loads. Don't pay vacation time.

Don't believe that 1 five star review, Legend is one of the worst companies to work for. Most dispachers are good people, it's the planners that are absolute garbage. Be ready to be up 16+ hours a day because of terrible planning. There is NO detention pay and you will be sitting for hours waiting on loads.

Pros

Newer equipment. Maintenance techs are great at least the ones I dealt with

Cons

They will waste your time by having you sit for hours. No detention pay. Have to beg for breakdown pay. They are terrible at reimbursing anything the driver pays for (truck related expenses). Will work numbers around on paycheck so you don't get monthly bonuses.

I worked here for 6 weeks and in that time I was asked to: change my logs, defend my route choices, (route 44 and 89 in California is closed during winter and they wanted me to use them) drive on Personal Conveyance while under a load, and they were very abusive in the way they spoke to me. I'm a 9 year veteran in this industry and a 41 year old man. You don't need to cuss at me to get your point across or hang up on me when I talk back. Equipment was OK but don't believe the shop or breakdown when you tell them about a problem. They had my truck for 4 days and still didn't fix the issue. $50 a day breakdown pay. I had 2 of the 6 weeks where I grossed over $1k. Drove a little over 12k miles in that time, had me at docks for over 30 hrs 1 week. Was in Montana waiting on a load for 22 hrs which they refused to pay layover pay for since it wasn't 24 hrs. Detention pay is $16 an hour. Terrible company.

Pros

Decent equipment My dispatcher was ok

Cons

Pay is terrible Home time wasn't easy to get Planners are aggressive and cuss at you Shop takes forever to fix things

There are many reasons why driver's are treated poorly at Legend. Bad driving skills, Not completing your Pre-Trip daily, How many of you drivers even remember how to complete CDL Air Brake Test? How about truly not using your phone while you drive. Think about it. You probably didn't earn the respect of being a Legend Driver in the first place. I've been driving (OTR) for more than 7 years with Legend Transportation. Those driver's that trash talk you really need to examine yourself. Only the best drivers continue working with Legend Transportation. The rest are chewed up and spit out.

Pros

You earn the respect of being a Legend Driver

Cons

I don't have nothing bad to report.

Don't bother with these people. I know a couple of guys who worked there and their stories pretty much match the OP. I know both drivers well and they're not prone to making up a bunch of bs or feeling sorry for themselves. If we had openings I'd hire both of them.

If you're part of the owner's ethnic group you might make out alright. If you're not you'll find that exclusivity games are constant.

They haul cheap freight, constantly under-bid other companies, promise their customers impossible delivery dates...and then expect the drivers to work miracles. Stay away.

This company is the worst company I ever worked. Truckers work hard to earn every cent and there is no reason to steal from there paycheck. The dispatchers on other hand never gives you loads on time. Sometimes you get a load, but the company runs out empty trailers so you are hunting to catch empty trailers before your own company drivers. Lack of communication in the office and not punctual at all. I mean there is efficient way to run a company rather than just brute strength. Save your self some headache and work for some other companies.
